Fall is here and I have figured out why it is called “fall”.  Not for the trees that lose their leaves, or the orange, brown and green colors that bask in the shortened sunlit days, or the cooler air that circulates throughout Sonoma County.  No, it’s a reminder that, again, I have “fall”en behind in all the tasks planned for the year which have not yet been completed, like set up an on-line store on our website.  Have you seen it yet?  No, because it’s still on my “to do” list.  Well, we have T-Shirts for sale now and no store page on our website.  So, in the mean time, consider this our “store”.   See Part II for T-shirt pictures.

Price $18.95 ($2.00 extra for XX-Large), plus $5.50 shipping and CA sales tax.

Women’s shirts have the shorter sleeve and come in small, medium, large, X-large and XX-large.  Colors are soft yellow, violet and black.

Men’s shirts have the regular short sleeve and come in medium, large, X-large and XX-large.  Colors are charcoal, tan and black.

Both styles are 100% pre-shrunk cotton.  Design by Blair O’Neil of Integris.  Shirts printed by Printed Image of Chico, CA.

If you want to order a T-shirt, email vacationsinacan@comcast.net or call me at 707.228.9944.

Sunset Magazine

Merry Christmas everybody and Happy New Year from Vacations in a Can!  We received an early Christmas present from Santa.  Our little treasured teardrop trailer made it on the “it list” in the January issue of the Sunset magazine and is featured on page 30.  Thank you Alicia for the best rental testimony ever and thank you to Jess for a superb article that captured what teardropping is all about.  We want to share our good fortune with you and offer a 5% discount off your teardrop trailer rental in 2010, if you make your reservation before April 1, 2010 and mention “I saw you on the ‘it list’”.

Teardrop Trailer Mania Begins

Joe at Burney Falls, California

Hi Everyone!

Guess what? The world just changed! (again) and we’re finally kicking off our new web site with a built-in  blog.

The blog part of this site is where we be sharing our adventures with all things teardrop and vintage trailer related. Here are some of the details:

  • New and Custom Teardrop trailers updates
  • Vintage Teardrop trailer stories (and photos)
  • Vintage Travel Trailers (aka “Canned Hams”)
  • “Small trailer industry” updates  (tent trailers, teardrops and other micro-camping news)

When we venture out into the world we will also be sharing our the stories of our adventures with photos (videos?) and accounts of escapades and interactions with local culture. We will also be writing reviews of the campgrounds we visit. Most of our trips that you will be able to read about will be centered in Northern California with occasional forays into the great beyond such as Central California, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Utah, Montana, Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico… and likely further as well.

But let’s not make it all about us… We want to invite you to share your stories as well, where you can tell your tales about other campgrounds you have visited and anything else that may tickle others who share our micro-camping (teardrop trailers, etc) enjoyment.

And please feel free to leave comments as well on any of our blog posts.

Happy trails!

Joe and Leslie Kosareff
